Signs of healthy skin

signs of healthy skin

While it may be easy to see your skin issues, here are a few things to look out for that show you have healthy skin. It does not take an army of products to get healthy skin. There is a chance you are taking care of your skin better than you think. The steps to healthy skin are relatively easy. Staying hydrated with water, wearing sunscreen every day, and exfoliating regularly are ways to keep your skin healthy.

  1. Your skin is hydrated enough
Drinking enough water is not only vital for your immune system and digestion, but it helps clear your largest organ. Enough water is 2 to 3 litres of water per day. This depends on your activity level and the weather where you live. Consuming the proper amount of water will ensure your skin looking glistening and healthy. Examine it under natural light and if it is letting off a slight shine then your skin is healthy!
  1. You practise daily sun protection
Wearing sunscreen every day a vital way to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. At least an SPF 30 should be applied every morning. Even on cloudy days, sunlight can stay radiate through the clouds and cause sun damage. So, if you are applying sunscreen and moisturising, you will be all good!
  1. Your skin texture is consistent
You may believe that pumps on your face are unhealthy, but, healthy skin does not feel smooth. The surface of your skin should be regularly irregular. This means not completely smooth but with tiny peaks of hair follicles and pores. What is unhealthy, is extreme irregularities.
  1. Your skin feels invisible
If your skin does not feel like anything, then you are doing the right thing! This is when you are using products or wearing skin care or make up on your face. If you feel itching, burning, or tightness, then it is a sign that you should switch your skincare routine.
  1. Even Colour on your skin
A consistent skin colour is a good sign that your skin is healthy. If you have dark spots or redness, then you may be suffering from eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea.
  1. Regular skin exfoliation
Dead skills accumulate on the surface of your skin or can linger on your body. With regular exfoliation you can avoid dullness or the accumulation of bacteria causing acne and pimples.

With these simple steps and signs, you can see whether you have healthy skin. If you have skincare concerns, why not book into one of the colour facials?
