While you may be familiar with tweezing or waxing your eyebrows, threading is one of the most popular options for any facial hair removal. Threading has been the primary mode of hair removal in Asia for centuries. It consists of rolling twisted cotton thread over the hairs which rip each follicle right out of the pore. While it sounds scary and painful, here are 7 things you should know before making a threading appointment.
Eyebrow threading is not as painful as you think
While ripping out individual hairs with a thread sounds painful, it is considered one of the gentlest forms of hair removal. People tend to experience an unusual sensation, however without much pain, if you are uncertain, simply ask your threading expert to test patch on the back of your hand to accustom to it.
It gives the sculpted look
The beautiful sculpted, yet precisely finished eyebrows that are in fashion now have been created by threading. Eyebrow threading is about precision. Even the smallest hair van be caught and excavated by the thread. The shape of the brow can also easily be dictated, by either removing one hair at a time or a line instead.
Threading is extremely efficient
With a skilled threading expert, you can get your eyebrows or facial threading time done in record time. Experienced beauticians can shape and sculpt your brows in as little. The speed and precision of this treatment makes it a favourite for any facial hair upkeep. Experienced beauticians can shape and sculpt your brows in as little as 10 minutes, and if your eyebrows are well kept it can be even less! The speed and precision of this treatment makes it a favourite for any facial hair upkeep.
Unlike tweezing or waxing your eyebrows that can result in hairs of different lengths remaining in your skin, threading ensures all the hair is removed at its follicle. This also means that the hair grows back at the same rate and only minimal tweezing will be required after a couple of weeks. Professionals advise to rebook a threading session 5 to 6 weeks to upkeep the sculpted look.
It costs the same as waxing
If you are thinking of switching from waxing, then you at least will not have to change your monthly budgeting. Depending where you go, waxing and threading tend to be around the same price. A classic 10 minute shaping session will set you back around $30.
It is the gentlest form of hair removal
Since the cotton threads pull out the hair by the follicle, your skin remains well out of harms way. There is minimal chance of irritation since there is no pulling or staining on the skin. This means sensitive skin benefits from not being left raw (as it would after waxing) or painful (as it may after tweezing).
It is best suited for the face
Due to its precision, threading is best suited for hair removal of a facial hair. It is not a great option for any other part of the body as it would take too long. Waxing or laser are better suited for larger areas. Learn about the laser options here.

Did you know there are several different types of wrinkles? In this post we will break down some of the most common ones and the top tips on how to treat them to rejuvenate your skin and keep you looking glowing and healthy.
Two types of wrinkles that develop as you age include dynamic and static wrinkles.
Dynamic wrinkles develop from repeated facial movements. Puckering your lips around a cigarette or straw will cause lip lines, laughter and smiling encourage smile lines, while excessive frowning will bring our ridges in your forehead.
Static wrinkles occur from the loss of elasticity as we age, and the slow win of gravity.
While wrinkles are frequently fought against and many individuals spend thousands of dollars on cosmetic procedures or products, they should be celebrated. Wrinkles can tell the story of our lives and our disposition; they share the years we have seen and experiences we have had. They are proof that we have lived a life longer than most of our ancestors could have ever dreamed of.
Despite this, if we want to keep our faces and bodies looking youthful and healthy, there are a few things you can do to decrease the prominence of wrinkles as we age. Our skin changes as we age, and at every stage of our lives our skin requires different care, so check out this post.

Calendula is an ingredient of interest in the medical researches for skin healing and improvement. To benefit from Calendula properties, the skin should be massaged to promote the absorption. Infused in a cleanser such as the NO FACE Royal Botanical Cleanser, would enable customers to benefit from the Calendula and other floral properties while massaging the skin during face washing.
Calendula has UV protection properties
A 2012 laboratory study found that calendula oil had natural SPF properties. Even though it’s hard to make sunscreen purely out of calendula, its properties make it an ideal ingredient to help the skin against the UV damages.
Calendula for wounds
Calendula might accelerate wound healing. Research in 2013 suggests that using aloe vera or calendula ointment along with standard care sped up episiotomy recovery time.
Calendula for acne
Calendula for eczema
Calendula oil for better skin
Calendula might improve the overall appearance of your skin. One study found that a cream containing calendula extract may promote skin hydration and firmness, but more research is needed.
It’s also speculated that calendula might help treat contact dermatitis, which includes reactions to poison ivy.
Your Skin Physically Protects You
The skin health extends beyond appearance as it performs a myriad of essential tasks for your body. It acts as the primary defence against everything that surround your body daily. It is a complex organ that works constantly to protect you from viruses, fungi, and bacteria. The skin also protects you from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation that can cell damage.
Generally, peptides are safe for all skin types and are primarily used to smoothen out fine lines, and clear up skin. These short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks of proteins such as collagen, elastin, and keratin. They boost communication within our skin to allow it to recover faster and remain supple.
There are however different types of peptides, so knowing what they are and their impacts on the skin can help you understand your skin needs. Luckily, many products have created multi peptide solutions to target several problems.
Check out this multi peptide moisturiser that can be an excellent addition to your daily skincare routine.
How do peptides work?
Different peptides have different roles. Collecting all the products that contain peptides and putting them on your skin will not automatically eliminate wrinkles. Since peptides are messengers their contribution to slowing aging and wrinkles is a little bit more complex. Think of peptides as signals sent to your body to heal itself, and in the case of skin, signals to produce more collagen.
In other circumstances such as an injury, peptides will be the messengers letting your body know to focus its energy to repair structures in your foot or hand. This is why, by adding peptides to your face during your skin care routine in the form of moisturiser or serum, you will trick your body into paying attention to this area.
Through simulating an injury or wound, these additional peptides will stimulate collagen boosts. This will encourage your skins production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. These work together to plump your skin and strengthening a healthy skin barrier.
Not all peptides are equal
There are hundreds of peptides that exist within our bodies playing different roles. Here are some of the different types of peptides employed in boosting skin appearance.
Carrier peptides deliver trace minerals that help to boost collagen,
Enzyme inhibitor peptides work to slow down the skins natural break down of collagen.
Signal peptides send messages to various parts of the skin to boost collagen, elastic, and other protein production.
Neurotransmitter peptides block the release of chemicals that cause muscle contraction of expression lines.
What are copper peptides?
One of the most powerful and impactful peptide treatments used in skincare are copper peptides. Copper is naturally found in our bodies and is an essential nutrient to help form red blood cells. Copper peptides have been found to be related to degenerative diseases.
The copper peptides are also responsible for the creation of collagen and elastin. The topical copper peptides have been found to not only help to boost the creation, but also help maintain the collagen. Some evidence has been found that copper peptides also encourage your skins cycles to remove damaged collagen and elastin. Unfortunately, in studies it has rarely been compared to other peptides or other ingredients containing such powerful antioxidants.
No Face provides a range of products targeted at anti-aging, with powerful peptides as prime ingredients. Whatever peptide infused treatment you use, ensure to use high SPF sunscreen to protect your face from UV rays that accelerate the production of free radicals. This daily moisturiser is a fantastic option for all around daily moisturiser and multi peptide booster!
