What is SHR IPL hair removal?

How many treatments does it take?

This depends on your individual hair type. Most clients require 8-10 sessions to achieve brilliant results. Hair reduces and becomes finer from the very first treatment. For some, an occasional maintenance treatment may be required.

Duration of the treatment:

Depending on your specific concern, you can expect the session to last 15-20 minutes.

How does it feel?

SHR IPL hair removal is a pain-free treatment, involving the application of heat to the skin which will cause a warming sensation. A cooling system is used throughout treatment to enhance your comfort.

I’ve had my first hair removal session. When can I come back for my next one?

IPL hair removal treatments must be conducted at intervals and this varies depending on the area getting treated. As an example, the face may be treated at 2-4 week intervals, while the chest, back and legs may be treated every 8 weeks.

Things you need to know before the treatment

At least 24 hours before your first treatment, we always carry out:

1. A consultation and history, where we try and find out whether there any medical reasons or activities that may preclude or delay your treatment. For example, if you are pregnant, we will not treat you.
2. A patch test, where we perform a small number of test shots in the treatment area, with slightly different machine settings, to see how you respond. Just like a patch test before you dye your hair, if you react badly, it may prevent you from having a treatment
3. See how your skin reacts during the patch test, and over the next 24 hours. If you have an allergic reaction, then we might need to adjust the settings on another patch test, or we might not even be able to continue with the treatment.
